Baraza relates that, in response to the 60 Minutes story on lion poisonings, the company responsible for Furadan is taking measures to remove it completely from Kenya, including a buy-back program to target old inventory.
It also appears that FMC will stop shipments to Tanzania and institute a buy-back there as well.
Living with Lions has more:
We have been told that FMC have now withdrawn Furadan from Africa in response to its misuse, and this will help slow the loss of lions. As a project we continue to do our best to improve the relationship between people and large predators, and address the complex issues surrounding lion-human conflict.
Excellent work by the Lion Guardians and everyone at Wildlife Direct!
