It’s no secret that I love GPS units (aka GPSers). I might even be *in love* with my Garmin Nuvi 350.
But when I saw this Navigon 5100… wow! The “Reality View” feature of the Navigon has to be one of the best new features of any GPSer I’ve seen in a long time. That’s just awesome right there… is what that is.
Add in the Lane Assist and Speed Assist (aka Nagging Wife feature), and you might have the most perfect GPSer ever constructed.
How does it work? I have no idea, might be total crap. I suspect it doesn’t hold a candle to my Nuvi functionally. But visually… wow.
Very cool!! I agree – looks good but Nuvi IS good :>)
Your GPSer rocks!
Two of my favorite Nuvi features are:
1) It speaks the street names. “Turn left on Main Street in 500 feet” instead of “Turn left in 500 feet”, like most models do.
2) It has customizable points-of-interest, so I can download POIs from websites (such as every Cabelas in the country) that maintain more frequently updated lists. This is especially handy in developing areas & for stores that do a lot of expansion (Kohls, Target, Starbucks, CVS, Walgreens, etc).
Hmm.. wonder how it works in the country. You are approaching an old hound dog, take the pig trail to the left…..
Yeah it looks good but your gpser does a good job from what I got to see of it. But hey maybe you need one as a backup unit, just in case.
