I want to give a big shout out to Michael and his great MacGourmet app for Mac. I know a lot of you have probably used MacGourmet to keep track of your recipes, shopping lists, and wine notes for a while. If so, you know what a powerful tool it truly is. (If not, what are you waiting for?!)
In the newest version, MacGourmet supports importing recipes from all the best recipe websites, like AllRecipes.com, Epicurious.com, Yahoo! Food, FoodNetwork.com and more. You can even do web-text clipping for recipes that might be on your friend’s blog!
And exporting – yeah, it’s got that. Send recipes to your blog or to your friends using Windows-based recipe programs. Even better, it will export to your iPod – which can be really handy for your shopping lists!
MacGourmet also has Smart Searches (a la iTunes) which automatically update as you add/edit information. So, a smart search for “spinach” will always have all your dishes with spinach, and so on.
Another great feature is menu-scaling. So, that recipe you love for the two of you can now feed a party of twelve! 🙂
One thing that hasn’t changed? The service. I had some trouble last night with Merrin’s install and Michael personally helped get things squared away in less than an hour. WOW!
So… quit stalling and start installing!
I love this software also, I pretty sure I’m one of there first customers. I did the betas an bought it when it hit a release version.
