That thing got a Hemi?

About a year or so ago, I became a convert to the Cult of NF0 system of networked media. Since then, almost every movie, song, and tv show we’ve got has been thrown onto the network. This has made everything we see & hear completely accessible from any computer/tv in the house. The one drawback, if you can call it that, is that we’re now a very gigabyte intensive family.

So, since the start of the year, the storage situation at Chez Kev has undergone a substantial upgrade. Gone is the old Dell media server, replaced with a Buffalo Terastation. (BTW, the Buffalo Terastation is an AMAZING little device. Go get one – rebates @ Fry’s.) This little upgrade has boosted our capacity tremendously.

So, what kind of storage are we talking about here? 1.68 TB of networked storage, or roughly the equivalent of 84,000 trees made into paper and printed.

Don’t ask why…ask why not?
