It’s a pretty well documented fact that the dear, sweet wife is an exceptional cook. We’re talking restaurant-quality, can make anything from anything, full-on chef.
This week –and I can only presume it’s a welcome home surprise– she’s gone full-on comfort food. Stuff that I love, but served in completely different ways.
First up: well, it’s no secret that I love chicken wings, so she made Buffalo Chicken Chili. I wish I had taken a picture, but let’s just say it passed the good neighbor test. Spicy chicken, celery, carrots, Franks Extra Hot, and beer – all seasoned and cooked to perfection. AWESOME!!
And last night – Cumin Chicken Pasta. All the great flavor of my regular taco night, garnished with spinach, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, etc, etc – for a fantastic pasta dish that looked as good as it tasted.
And you wonder why I’ve gained 60 pounds in the last twelve years. 🙂
I’m making your favorite cake tonight, too!
I’m still waiting for her to send me the chili recipe
I thought having my husband gone for a year would help me lose weight. I was wrong. So, you’re in good company. 🙂
