Windows Genius Doug Knox has a visual basic script that will remove the third party “branding” from your version of Internet Explorer and reset it to all it’s Microsoft splendor, if you are so inclined. The script will also remove the third party branding in Outlook Express.
Why would you use this script? Let’s say your version of Internet Explorer shows a corporate logo or your ISP’s logo (i.e. “AT&T”). You could run this script and remove the brand logo. Other examples are the spinning logos, title bar text and etc.
Download ‘Remove IE/OE Branding’
NOTE: Your antivirus software may report this script as potentially malicious, or a possible virus. This is because the script writes to the System Registry.
To Use: Download the Unbrand.vbs file and save it to your hard drive. Double-click the Unbrand.vbs file and enter the information as you desire. Close and restart IE and/or OE, if they’re open.
I recently got Cox cable. I put their install disk in and ended up with thier branding in my IE browser. Re-installing the browser doesn’t restore it to the original.
Any ideas on how I can remove the branding in Internet Explorer?
Thanks,
Dan
Dan, did you read the post, chief? The whole point is “how to remove the branding”. The answer is to follow the link above or right here, just for you, Dan: DAN CLICK HERE
I tried to remove the branding of my ISP named VSNL but I did not get the opportunity to enter any information as your instructions indicate. I only get a message saying brnading removed. But when I open Outlook Express, the branding is still there.
has VSNL done some more tricks to make Inbranding Software ineffective? Or does it mean, my system has not responded properly to executing your software?
Thanks.

I will try to find out more info. This was provided by Doug Knox and it works in all versions of Windows. Not sure why you’re having trouble if it is run properly.
Worked like a charm! Many thanks!
