I always figured Kerry served some considerable time in Vietnam. But the truth is, he only served 4 months and 12 days. My wife knew this, but I didn’t. I mean, we sure hear a lot about it. I just figured he spent more than a semester there.
Also troubling to me are the (as JibJab reminds us) three purple hearts Kerry earned. I respect the hell out of the guy for his service, but the story of his purple hearts is a little shady. One incident just needed tweezers and a band-aid. Seriously.
Finally, there’s this photo of Kerry & his swift boat buddies. Now I understand why they paraded all those guys up on stage in Boston. Out of the 23 people pictured with Kerry in his ads, only one supports his campaign.
The whole time it’s been, “Look at my record.” And then, when you do, you start to see that it isn’t as great as you understood it to be. I don’t like blogging about politics. Too many people have such strong emotional opinions that they won’t listen to one another. Be that as it may, I hadn’t heard this before. I bet I’m not alone.
No comments here because, as I said, too many people have such strong emotional opinions that they won’t listen to one another. I don’t feel like getting blasted for discovering this. If you knew it, great. If you didn’t, well, maybe it kinda surprises you, too.
