Remove Branding in Internet Explorer
Windows Genius Doug Knox has a visual basic script that will remove the third party “branding” from your version of Internet Explorer and reset it to all it’s Microsoft splendor, if you are so inclined. The script will also remove the third party branding in Outlook Express.
Why would you use this script? Let’s say your version of Internet Explorer shows a corporate logo or your ISP’s logo (i.e. “AT&T”). You could run this script and remove the brand logo. Other examples are the spinning logos, title bar text and etc.
NOTE: Your antivirus software may report this script as potentially malicious, or a possible virus. This is because the script writes to the System Registry.
To Use: Download the Unbrand.vbs file and save it to your hard drive. Double-click the Unbrand.vbs file and enter the information as you desire. Close and restart IE and/or OE, if they’re open.
