Copyproof CD, Shmoppyproof CD
I don’t know how much Sony and Universal paid to produce new music CDs with built-in copy-proofing, but I do know how much it costs to beat it: $0.44.
The new copy protection can be foiled by a black marker . Fancy, huh? MSNBC.com even tested the marker-technique to make sure it’s legit. Yep, works fine. Just take a black marker and “black out” the outer ring on the data-side of the cd.
