Husband. Father. Pilgrim. Author.

There are numerous words that help to root and define our lives; these are among my favorites. Each seemingly distinct, they have individually and collectively transformed how I embrace the world and my place in it.

My first book, Sacred Steps: A Pilgrimage Journal, is currently in development with a planned on-sale date of Easter 2023. I’m writing to share my first-hand account as a reluctant pilgrim navigating questions of faith while walking the world’s revered paths. The book follows my pilgrimages through Portugal and Spain on the Camino de Santiago, along the coast of the Pacific Ocean connecting California’s Missions Trail, across England’s ancient Pilgrims’ Way, and onward towards Rome via Europe’s forgotten footpaths on a journey of soulful discovery. More than just a travelogue, Sacred Steps: A Pilgrimage Journal reflects upon the people and places I’ve found along The Way to inspire questions and enlighten answers about faith, hope, and love.

Walking virtually alongside pilgrims and authors, the Sacred Steps Podcast explores the world’s most revered footpaths, connecting a community of pilgrims from across the globe.

From the Camino de Santiago through Spain to the Via Francigena across Europe to Italy, the podcast features updates and first-hand accounts from the footpaths of pilgrimage. A companion to the book Sacred Steps: A Pilgrimage Journal by Kevin Donahue, the podcast also introduces several lesser-known journeys, such as England’s Pilgrims’ Way to Canterbury and the California Missions Trail in the United States.

In 2020 and 2021 I will be walking in pilgrimage along England’s ancient Pilgrims’ Way from London to Canterbury Cathedral. Afterwards, I’ll begin the Via Francigena, the historic way in Europe connecting Canterbury to Rome. When I’m not in Europe, I’ll be walking sections of the California Mission Trail and the Florida Trail.
